FAQ
How is this different from regular waxed floss?
It's a hydrophilic multifilament: once it contacts saliva or water it blooms 2–3× to fill the gap, so a single strand cleans both tight and wide contacts. Standard waxed floss keeps a fixed thin profile and can leave loose contacts poorly wiped.
Is it safe to use around crowns, bridges, and implants?
Yes. The strand enters thin, then expands 2–3× inside the space, so it wipes broad restoration surfaces without you having to force a thick cord through the contact point. That makes it well suited to restorations and orthodontic work where gaps vary.
Why is expanding floss better for braces and wide gaps?
Orthodontic and restored mouths have mixed contacts — some tight, some open. Because this expanding polyester blooms 2–3× in the gap, one floss adapts to each space instead of you switching between thin and thick products.
How do I use it so it actually expands?
Insert the strand dry through the contact, then let it sit against moist tooth and gum surfaces for a moment — the hydrophilic fibers take up saliva and bloom to fill the space before you wipe up and down. Ease it in gently rather than snapping it through the contact.
